Gym Chic

I noticed something at the gym this afternoon that had never really bothered me much till I left school; boys who work out in loafers. Granted, none of them are doing any cardio work, it hardly seems fitting to be wearing what was once a smart casual shoe to a temple of sweat and blood. Now, I'm no gym barbie when it comes to how I dress, but I feel that considering I spend so much of my time there, it's best to look somewhat put together. My advice? Go for comfort. it may seem like an obvious choice when choosing clothes to work out in, but you'd be surprised how many women I see fiddling with their get ups on treadmills or bicycles. Keep fabric to a minimal (if you're doing it right you'll sweat enough on your own), keep shoes supportive, and anything that's clingy should be reinforced with stretch (lycra, cotton). I'm a huge fan of the Reebok easy Tone Trainers, the Lululemon yoga zip up jumpers, and the Addidas range of ClimaCool wear, all above labels cater to both men and women.
